Those

Gill and David visited us at Nana and Bob-Bob's today. When they arrived Holly was unimpressed:

"I don't love those."

Christmas

We seemed to wake up at about 7am this morning, and chatted to each other until 8.30. Mummy and Daddy figured they must surely have discovered their stockings, but they were wrong. 8.30 and both monkeys ran into the bedroom with untampered stockings terrifically excited that Santa Claus had been.

Rosie decided "I'm saving mine" and didn't open it until an hour and a half later after breakfast...

Yours and mine

Holly had a good look at Mummy in the shower yesterday.

"You've got a big one with hair on it. But mine is little with bits sticking out..."

Churches

Walking past a church today. Holly looks intently at it and says,

"We don't like churches do we..? No.... Or mud."

Ambience

Today Holly and Rosie and Daddy were driving along listening to Brian Eno instrumentals.

Daddy explained, "This music is called ambient music."

Rosie knew exactly what he was talking about. "WE saw an ambience this morning..."

Funky Hair

We went to nursery a couple of weeks ago and came back like this! (Kayleigh did it...)

This morning Holly decided she needed to sit on the potty. Unproductively it turned out.

"Oh. My am empty."

THAT'S a tune

We were all listening to Cake's "Motorcade of Generosity" in the car today. Rosie wasn't impressed. "Can we have nursery rhymes please? I don't like this music."

"Sure darling..." (Changes music). Boys and Girls Come Out to Play...

Rosie: "Now THAT'S a tune!"

Autumn

First thing this morning Rosie ran out of her bedroom and into the bathroom where Daddy was sloshing about.

"Daddy, you'll need a ladder!"

"Er... what for?"

"All the leaves have fallen off the tree. You need to stick them back on. With sellotape..."

Books we like

Holly was fiddling with her breakfast.

"Holly. Are you eating that orange?"

"No... ... ... ...It's not in my mouth yet. I will eat it in a minute. When you've gone."

We went to our first circus today. It was brill. We all sat quietly for two hours with our mouths hanging open. Poor old Lolly wasn't feeling very well and tried to stay awake but finally had to give in and fell asleep on Mummy.

Swimsuits

We got our first swimsuits today and became exceedingly enthusiastic about them, including grinning like mad things:

and doing ballet:
