Rules of engagement

We went out for a meal today with Granny Lea. Lolly and Mrs Woo wanted fish and chips and were told that fish makes you clever. Also that people who finish their food in this restaurant are allowed a sweet from "Annie's sweet jar"...

When prompted to eat her fish, Rosie said "I don't want one of Annie's sweets." And, when it was pointed out that Mummy was eating her fish, Rosie said, "I don't want to be as clever as Mummy..."

Friends

We were watching Pocahontas and Captain Smith was very keen on her.

Rosie: "I think that they are friends. You know... chat chat chat."

Oranges

Rosie was doing a good job of being too poorly for school this morning.

Daddy: "Would you like an orange, sweetie?"
Rosie: "No.... It's too squirty for headaches..."

Glue Ear

Holly has glue ear on both sides.

Mummy: "Holly, how was your hearing today...?"

Holly:

"Fine!"

Teaching

Rosie: "I like it when you tell me things with lots of words Daddy, because then when I am grown up I can teach my children things too."

Mrs Roberts

Mrs Roberts is one of our teachers at Little Trees. She has moderately prominent teeth ...

Rosie was looking at one of her hair-clips. "Look Daddy. When it is like this...

it looks like an open mouth. And when it is like this...

it looks like teeth. And when it is like this...

it looks like Mrs Roberts!"

Ice Skating

We went ice skating for the first time ever with Alex and Finny today. It was grand, and Holly is a natural.

Excited

Daddy: "Three things are coming tomorrow. Can you guess what they are...?"
Rosie: "No..."
Daddy: "Finny.... Alex... and... Bunk Beds!"
...
Rosie: "I might be a little bit too excited."

Mermaid Swimming

We took our goggles swimming today and Rosie Woo was swimming underwater for the first time! (Holly was less keen to try this, but was still very super at running underneath the fountains and doing very good swimming...)

Squirting Mummy

Rosie just squirted a bottle of blackcurrent over the table at Mummy. It wasn't funny in the slightest.

Honest.

Alegria

We saw Cirque Du Soleil today - Alegria. The best circus act ever.

Happy Carriage

Rosie saw a school minibus today with smiley faces on the side and, rather delightedly, called out "Look! A Happy-Carriage!"
