This is Holly's creative writing homework.
I stepped outside and the noise hit me like a sledgehammer. People were yelling, stamping angrily down the street or just trying to sell their goods. I was finding it hard to ignore the delicious smells drifting from the bakery down the road.
Uneven paving stones kept tripping me up, as the fumes of petrol, flowers and dog poo crawled unwanted up my nostril.
A little while later I stepped into the giant glass pearl and watched as we floated up as if being pulled by a cautious invisible giant. As we reached the highest point, I could see the entire city. A mass of steel, glass and paint but here and there a glimpse of ancient stone could be seen. A debt to the old times of this great city.
